Habitation Block 17

Nine apartments. Five days. A resident register that burned, and nobody left who will tell you the truth.

A deduction game about paperwork, neighbours, and the small lies that keep people alive under a state that files everything.

Habitation Block 17 at night: a concrete apartment block with nine numbered windows in a three by three grid, a lobby at street level and a cutaway basement archive below. A severed antenna sparks on the roof.

The situation

Somebody lived here. The paperwork disagrees.

The last custodian of Block 17 walked out during a fire in the records archive and did not come back. The Ministry has appointed you in his place.

In five days an auditor arrives expecting a complete resident register — every name, every door, every occupation, correctly filed. The old register is ash.

The nine households behind those doors have had years to arrange their stories. Not one of them has a reason to help you.

If you have filled a ledger before

Return of the Obra Dinn

A book to complete, and the discipline of being told only that you were wrong.

The Case of the Golden Idol

Evidence you assemble into sentences, one stubborn word at a time.

The Roottrees are Dead

Cross-referencing scraps until a shape finally holds still.

The Séance of Blake Manor

One building, many rooms, and everybody in it lying about something.

Block 17 is built for the people who finished those and went looking for another.

What we are working on

Deduction / Mystery — In development

Habitation Block 17

Nine apartments, a lobby and a basement, modelled in full and rendered like it is 1997. Five in-game days. One register to fill, and an auditor who arrives whether you are ready or not.

Not yet

We are a small studio and Block 17 has all of our attention. When there is a second thing to show, the dispatch is where it goes first.

We make games about incomplete information — about what you can work out from the things people leave lying around, and what they would rather you did not.

Habitation Block 17 is our first.
